We took a field trip to Columbia State Historic Park, about a 3 hour drive east of San Francisco. It was a long bus ride but so fun to step back in time to the 1850s. Teaching brings up bittersweet memories of my own elementary school experience and I, too, remember learning all about the history of California. I hope the kids that I teach remember their year in my class fondly.
